EducPilot vs Synthesia: an avatar presenter or a drawn explainer?
Both turn a document into a training video, but not into the same video. Synthesia puts an avatar presenter on screen; EducPilot draws the explanation scene by scene and is corrected by annotating the frame. Here are the facts, checked on both official sites on 5 October 2026.

The short answer
Pick Synthesia if you want a person on screen (an avatar, possibly yours), many languages, SCORM export or interactive videos. Pick EducPilot if you want to explain a procedure or a rule through drawing, from your own documents cited page by page, and have it corrected by annotating the frame, reviewers without an account included.
Side by side
| Synthesia | EducPilot | |
|---|---|---|
| What you see | An AI avatar presenting, on layout templates | A drawn, narrated animation (whiteboard, comic, infographic, magazine, kinetic type, product) |
| Starting point | A script, or a document, deck or web page via the AI Video Assistant | PDF (50 MB), web page, pasted text or conversation |
| Decks and Word files | PowerPoint import; .doc and .docx accepted | Export to PDF first |
| Languages and voices | 160+ languages and voices | English, French, Chinese |
| Review | Comments from guests (3 to 5 depending on plan) | Notes pinned on the frame, review links without an account, only the annotated scene is rewritten |
| Sources | The script is editable | Every sentence linked to the document page that supports it |
| Export | MP4 1080p; SCORM on Enterprise | MP4 1080p, 16:9 or 9:16, burned-in subtitles; no SCORM |
| Free | Basic plan: 10 min of video per month, no download | 5 free minutes at sign-up, free storyboard |

| Enterprise: custom, unlimited minutes, SSO, SCORM | Business: €214.80 incl. VAT per month, 400 minutes |
Both count the length of the generated video. With EducPilot, the storyboard and its revisions use no minutes (so correct before generating), and one-off top-ups valid 12 months exist (30 minutes for €34.80, 100 minutes for €94.80, incl. VAT).
Where Synthesia is the better choice
- A human presence on screen. For a message from leadership, an embodied welcome video or face-to-camera sales training, an avatar speaks better than a drawing.
- Many languages: 160+ languages and voices, and one-click translation on Enterprise.
- LMS integration through SCORM and interactive videos (quizzes, branching), which EducPilot does not offer.
- Decks as they are: PowerPoint import saves the PDF export.
Where EducPilot is the better choice
- Explaining rather than presenting. A diagram that draws itself helps viewers follow reasoning (a timeline, a flow, a procedure) better than a person talking over a slide.
- Expert review. Experts annotate the frame at the right moment, from a link, without an account; only that scene changes, and versions stay available.
- Traceable sources. Every statement points to the document page that supports it, so a lawyer’s or a safety officer’s review is about verifiable facts.
- Vertical 9:16 ready for phones, and plans from €20 incl. VAT per month.
Frequently asked questions
Does EducPilot offer avatars?
No. EducPilot makes drawn videos narrated by a synthetic voice. If you want a presenter on screen, Synthesia, Colossyan or HeyGen are built for it.
Can we use both?
Yes, and teams often do: an avatar for an embodied message, a drawn video for a procedure or a rule to understand.
